IT Helpdesk Technician  

OWC is looking for a skilled and enthusiastic level 1 IT Helpdesk Technician to join our Information Technology team! The ideal candidate will have good technical knowledge and will take pride in providing support and guidance to OWC staff with an attitude of outstanding customer service in every interaction. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who is capable of multitasking and understands priorities to maximize performance. You will be a key member of the Information Technology team.

What Will You be Doing? 

  • Acting as the first responder to internal chat, telephone, email and Service Ticket support requests; including identifying, troubleshooting and documenting tickets.  
  • Deliver appropriate team responses and escalate requests as necessary to administrators or developers.  
  • Accurately auditing and tracking assets across multiple locations worldwide, organizing information including asset number, serial number, specifications, user, department and location details.  
  • Providing remote on-call technical support in a shared rotating schedule for 24/7 effective responses, coordinated amongst the IT Helpdesk Team or escalating appropriately to administrators.  
  • Documenting procedures and updating frequently asked questions into the IT knowledge base to serve as internal communication or how-to resources.  
  • Perform basic computer preventative maintenance checks and perform standard repair or upgrade procedures while working together with the IT Helpdesk Manager and administrators.  
  • Assist end-users by providing intermediate level support for Mac and Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.  
  • Communicate effectively in person and via voice, chat, and email, with excellent customer service to multiple remote locations and users.  
  • Assist in the end-user support of common business phone system equipment and Teams apps.  
  • Maintain excellent organization and communication throughout appointed tasks.  
  • Special projects as assigned by leadership.  

What You Bring with You? 

  • Intermediate level experience working with Google Apps, Apple macOS and iOS, Windows 7/10/Server 2012+ and MS Office365 apps. 
  • CompTIA A+ Certification/Apple® Certified Macintosh Technician or equivalent experience installing and troubleshooting common computer hardware. 
  • Basic knowledge of standard LAN/WAN technologies including TCP/IP, VLANs, and ACL troubleshooting. 
  • Experience with installation and configuration of anti-virus software, network router and firewall configurations and computer security settings in a mixed operating system environment. 
  • Must have experience in setting up and installing printers, computers, computer peripherals, and software applications. 
  • Must have exceptional customer-friendly attitude with willingness to learn and work both in person and remotely as scheduled. 

Compensation Structure for the Position  

The compensation package for this role includes a salary of 40-45K USD per year. The amount of compensation will be determined based on your experience, skills, and performance.
